Oh boy! Oil change, tyre rotation, and brake bleed, my kind of night in.

Kinja'd!!!

And did I not tell you the addition of a HUGE wing would help her fly? "Where we're going, we don't need roads."

Kinja'd!!!

So what did the rest of you opponauts get your hands dirty doing?

Nothing car related but went outdoor bouldering with my brother and a couple friends. Funny moment caught on my brother's phone was my buddy trying a pretty tough route so I played "The Final Countdown" to try and pump him up. he got the first move down but then the music suddenly stopped as he went for the next move so he fell. It was like the lack of music sapped his energy. He lay on the mat defeated yelling "this problem sucks balls!" into the woods as we all laughed. Good stuff.

Drove to Cars and Coffee, went kayaking on the Potomac River, ate a delicious elk burger with elderberry cider, ran around DC for five hours doing the annual Washington Post scavenger hunt, and mowed the lawn. As my father would say, my dogs are barking.

hey I mowed the lawn too! My friend who came over to learn how to bleed brakes was appalled that I use a manual push mower. I think I lost some credibility in his eyes :P

Adventure to the junkyard....stole a TPS off of a Suburban, that may fix a code I occasionally get. Well, I guess I stole it off of the intake manifold that was in the back seat of the Suburban. Took a sway bar off of the same Burb that will potentially be retrofitted to a 454SS. Annnnd, plasti-dipped the hood of my truck because the factory paint has given up the ghost in a large way.

Odd that I actually paid attention to my truck for once...

I use a manual push mower too! I hate having to pass over the same spot 3-4 times, but I like not spending money on gas.

Not much car related but went to some graduation parties and had a night out with few friends. Also watched a documentary about bunch of British bikers trying to set speed records at Bonneville speed week.

I spent hours and hours and hours painting my house. It sucks. Its boring. Its expensive to hire people so i'm stuck doing it.

I dug holes and planted many bushes this weekend also, numerous times as I laboured in the glue-like clay soil I pondered how much my time was worth and whether I should have paid someone

Car related: Went to Ottawa cars & coffee, and went for lunch with Opponaut Zippy the newbie tech.

We diagnosed my check engine light also. Exhaust evaporative system leak! Next weekend is the true car weekend, where we got to Murica for car parts, and then install said parts.

Got my Volvo 850R running! I bought it last weekend on impulse after it broke down while I was test driving it and then failed to start again. The guy just wanted to be rid of it, so I made an offer for the car as-is, and he accepted! I'm not entirely sure what I did that fixed it, but after spending a few hours futzing around with the engine bay wiring harness, it fired right up!

Of course, on closer inspection, there's still plenty to keep me busy. It seems like there's been a heater core leak going on unnoticed for a very long time, and I spent most of yesterday getting intimately familiar with the footwells and underdash area. I haven't caught it in the act, but with evidence of drips running down the side of the footwell, and an underlay sodden with green stuff, I can't think of any other culprit.

Still, I'm absolutely thrilled. I have a mostly-working, hilariously fast, turbocharged luxury wagon for the kind of money that you'd pay for a used-up beater. Of course, it is pretty used-up, with 213,000 miles on the clock, but I reckon that with a bit of elbow grease, it will make a magnificent daily driver.

Went to watch my daughter a softball tourney on Saturday then me and the wife went out.

On Sunday I was left to my own devices so I busted out the chain saw and cleaned up the huge limbs we lost in the last ice storm. Mowed the back lawn. Then I worked on my truck. Got the front shocks out without breaking a bolt. Got one front caliper off and broke a stud on the driver side. The brake pads were atrocious! Then grind grind grind on the rear frame. Finally got one bump stop completely removed. It is not run grinding on the bottom of frame rails.

changed the diff oil F/R and lowered the LSPV a 1/4 inch to compensate for the lift.

Oh. My. God.

I didn't know it until now, but my life won't be complete until someone plays this in a sports arena instead of the original version.
